Why Us?

Hospice and Community Care Insurance Services is a specialist in providing insurance for hospices and home healthcare agencies.  We currently provide property and liability insurance to 561 hospices and 1,396 home healthcare customers.  Our insurance program is available on an admitted basis in all 50 states, and our insurance carrier has an A+ financial rating from the A.M. Best Company.  Our interest-free payment plans provide flexibility and convenience.

We employ 23 people in loss control, underwriting and sales who know your special issues and concerns.  Each of us has many years experience in the hospice and home healthcare industry.  Some have ten years experience and more.  The efforts of our 85-person claims department, as well as our network of attorneys and adjusters throughout the country, are deployed when the customers in any of our Glatfelter Insurance Group specialty insurance programs have claims.

Since January 2001, 60% of the hospices and home healthcare agencies for whom we have made proposals have become our customers.  As customers they have free access to our experienced risk control consultants, free training materials on safe driving, patient transfers and abuse prevention and free access to the risk control resources on our website.  Our entire risk control department is focused on helping our customers control the cost of risk in their organizations. 

Coverages available to our customers include professional and general liability, auto insurance, excess liability, property coverages, including crime, and management liability coverage, including employment practice liability.  We can add professional liability coverage for hired and contracted physicians for their clinical and administrative duties on behalf of our customers’ organization.  Many of our competitors only cover physicians for administrative duties.  Our property coverage includes the flood peril for business personal property and loss of income and additional expense.  Many of our competitors exclude flood coverage completely. 

Our claims department is experienced with hospice and home healthcare customs and practices.  Their philosophy is to adjust property losses promptly and fairly and to defend liability claims appropriately.  Since our program inception in 2001, our claims department has handled over 3,700 hospice and home healthcare claims.  We continue to diligently handle all claims with our own experienced claims department.  That includes professional liability claims, general liability claims, auto liability claims, employment practices claims and property claims.

From years of experience we’ve learned that really bad things can happen to any organization.  We’ve also learned that bad things usually happen when they are least expected and most damaging.  Our experienced people will help you prepare for the worst while we help you manage your risks to avoid it.
